Hello. My name is Amrita Paintal.
ThinkFootprints was conceived when I was renovating my home. I realized that I was making choices that were not eco-conscious. Despite my immense love for the amazing planet I call home, when it came to building my home, limited time, funds and readily available resources and skills trumped making more sensible eco-friendly and green choices.
Carbon footprint, sustainability, green and clean. All urgent and necessary. There are all kinds of taxes we pay from income to property, service and state. But there is no environment tax.
In the pursuit of pleasure and convenience of one species, the human being, all other beings are suffering. We can no longer turn a blind eye and continue with the paradigms of our indulgent lifestyles that threaten our bees and bears and everything between.
My articles in this blog are drawn from a personal place. Of experience, knowledge, research and what I deem will help my readers make better choices. From recycled and new interpretations of ancient wisdom by modern day gurus to current scientific research. From the Upanishads to references in articles in New York Times. From the latest facts and figures to epiphanies, my goal is to encourage others by sharing what I have learned. To bring awareness about brands and companies that have strong ecological credentials. And to share tips about making better choices to nourish our bodies, mind and soul and the beautiful planet we inhabit.
